Handmade tortillas are a staple at @tierrayfuegotaqueria with this family owned business growing into a storefront from their popular orange food truck that began on their farm just a couple years back. Their heart and soul reflects the Mexican culture by implementing flavors heavily tide to their home, but they also reflect pieces of their life here in Boulder. Pepe and his family impart garden fresh produce to heightened the natural flavor of each of their dishes. It reflects their work and dedication to their farm and their gratitude to the food they grow here. Each taco has the trinity of onions, cilantro and salsa to keep the meat and tortillas the star. The grilled chicken has a nice smokey char from the high flamed heat. The pork pairs well with the sweet and sourness of pineapple, while the smoked brisket falls apart from how tender it is. It looks like a familiar taco tuesday plate but in the details of local sources uplifts this dish even more.

A raw oyster has the crisp salty taste of the ocean but a chargrilled oyster takes on added smokiness and richness from the butter baste that locks in that flavor. As the butter melts it cooks the oysters in a confit type of style that makes them ever so tender. The addition of pecorino gives it the feel of an Oyster's Rockefeller but stays truer to the sea flavor instead of adding spinach. The fresh parsley uplifts this dish and gives it a more herbaceous note. Then with a squeeze of acid from the side of lemon makes it an balanced way to start a meal that takes a look at the bayous of Louisiana. After a dive into the oysters, a fried catfish, a gumbo, or po-boy will bring the south even closer.

We couldn’t wait to MEAT at @mr.minersmeats and try their stellar cured meat and aged cheese. They source locally or internationally to make sure that everyone that tries their charcuterie board, sandwiches or salads is getting the best ingredients possible. The combine flavors to make an old Italian deli clap for their accomplishments. They spice up a tried a true flavor of spicy sopressata and peppery arugula by putting their own twist by adding homemade red pepper jam that gives a new type of sweetness and bite to the sandwich. Their rustic italian roll has a nice crust that protects the fluffy warm bread within. It gives a nice textural contrast the the ingredients it houses. And the colors just make this sandwich even more craveable.

The typical Monte Cristo is over the top with pairing a french toast style bread with savory ham and cheese sandwich, but Tupelo sees no signs of stopping there. They impart extra layers of flavor to enhance the notes of salty sweetness that makes people drool over this monumental sandwich. They add their famous buttermilk fried chicken which adds another layer of crunch and an homage to southern comfort. Instead of the usual raspberry jam, they already pair their normal french toast with a fresh blueberry jam bursting with smashed berries. Only then, do they add the maple syrup and powdered sugar to round out this breakfast montage. It encapsulates their breakfast menu for the only kind of breakfast sandwich needed. It may look big from a far, but it's flavor makes it easy to finish.

NO SUprise that the ramen from @nosuramen was stellar. This homey spot in Golden served us up a warm bowl of authentic noodles. Owners Noah Heaney and Brandon Bortles wanted to change the Golden food scene and their innovative ramen does just that. Their classic Pork Tonkotsu has the pork belly that melts from being braised perfectly. The dark broth has been stewing to develop savory notes in each of their bowls. The chicken ramen arrives with nuggets of lightly fried bites that are ready to absorb all the juices lying below. We have never had duck ramen before and we sure got a taste when the entire leg landed in our bowl. The duck has crispy crackling skin, yet the meat around the bone is effortlessly falling into the rest of the ramen. Both bowls are accompanied by the iconic soft boiled egg and after it combines with the broth, there is nothing better. Where should go next in Golden for some gold star eats?

DOUGH not wake us up from this DREAM because now we can actually eat the cookie dough without sneaking it out of the mixer. @doughdreamery we don’t need to turn on our oven because their ice cream sized scoops of dough are meant to be eaten right on the spot. We can never get enough chocolate chips in our dough, the brown sugar base and the chocolate is a childhood classic. We tried the funfetti and instantly felt the need to light a birthday candle to celebrate this sugary treat. Their cookies and cream dough feels like it should be dunked in milk and their mashups continue with their brownie cookie dough. This chocolate base only gets another serving of chocolate to really hit at our chocolate obsessed hearts. Which dough do you dream about?

Katsu Ramen offers a variety of delicious ramen broths. My favorite is the curry, but the shoyu and black garlic tonkotsu are closely tied for second. Check them out in Aurora, they re-opened for dine-in a couple of months ago. Pro tip, substitute the chicken for the pork belly.

Both slushes were made with green tea, fruit syrup, and fresh fruit blended with ice. They were both delicious and not too sweet. The boba was SO good. It was warm, soft, and slightly smaller than most boba.
