The Classic is a light-filled, fresh-faced American bistro with a touch of retro charm. This American diner is located in the Houston Heights and is a new eatery that combines old school diner notions with familiar global foods (touches of Italian, French, Lithuanian, Asian and Jewish deli flavors). The Classic’s 5,000-square-foot interior is outfitted with center tables, oversized booths, and long banquets in the dining room along with a 30-swivel-seat counter looking into the open kitchen. Some of the ingredients at The Classic are grown on-site: there’s a 700-square-foot second-floor organic garden where produce like broccoli, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, kale, okra, and squash are all growing via a sustainable irrigation system that catches rainwater. The Classic serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner Sunday through Thursday 8 am to 9 pm and Friday and Saturday 8 am to 10 pm.
